Joséphine de Weck, Noémi Büchi
(Schweiz / Switzerland)
⇒ Focus Schweiz / Switzerland

In 2025 she published La petite lutte in the publishing house “La Veilleuse”. This novel tells the story of a woman on a train. She does not know where the train heads to. This travel gives her the opportunity to get out of a toxic relationship. In 2026, Jos phine adapted the novel into a theater play, called Le train.
The Franco-Swiss composer and sound artist Noémi Büchi (*1991 in Zurich) creates and explores the potential of hybrid musical structures. Her music is defined by a delicate synthesis of textural rhythms and electroacoustic-orchestral abstraction. She contrasts rhythmic physicality with disruption and playfully highlights irregularities, creating an expansive listening experience marked by detail and elevation. Her musical work spans the fields of electroacoustic composition, live performance, audiovisual performances, film music, music for contemporary dance, music for installations, music for theater, and orchestral works.
She holds a master’s degree in electroacoustic composition from the ZHdK (Zurich) and a bachelor’s degree in musicology and German literature/linguistics from the University of Zurich. During and after her studies, she performed at various festivals and received a cultural award from the City of Zurich. She is regularly invited to renowned national and international festivals such as Ars Electronica (Austria), Mutek Festival (Spain/Canada), L.E.V. Festival (Spain), Variations Festival (France), Romaeuropa Festival (Italy), and Nemo Biennale Paris (France).
Do you know me?
I am the stranger
No one knows where I come from nor where I am going
Yet it’s clear that I’m not from here
Some envy me
Others look forward to see me
Yet it’s hard to connect
Can we connect with what we don’t understand?
I am sorry
I don’t understand
Who are you?
Who am I?
Who cares?
I am no one
Yes, yes, no one
I’m behind on everything
That’s just how it is
I hurry to convey
My part however small it may be
Yes, I know, I’m late
The indescribable life
The one I wish for myself
The one I deny myself
Of which I painstakingly gather a few dry crumbs here and there
After internal battles
A submissive agony
[…]
Absence
Tell me where you find intensity
In yourself
Do you
Do you
Do you hope that it will come from somewhere else
From someone else
Why
Why do we sacrifice our center
I was wondering
Tell me what you think
I was wondering
If we could accept the void
Accept the void
In ourselves
breath
Silence
Absence
[…]
