Lynn Parkerson
(New York)
⇒ Focus Jack Kerouac School Of Disembodied Poetics (JKS)
Lynn Parkerson is the founder and artistic director of the interdisciplinary dance company Brooklyn Ballet New York, established in 2002. Her work combines dance, poetry, and music, and she collaborates with artists such as the poet Jasmine Mans and the composer Malcolm Parson.
Her connection to Schamrock began in 2018 with a residency at Villa Waldberta and the resulting collaboration with Kunst oder Unfall (Augusta Laar & Kalle Aldis Laar). Inspired by the women poets of the Schamrock festival, Lynn began writing poems herself.
Her work has been published by, among others, the New York Writers Coalition and the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics. In 2024, she presented her poetry at Schamrock, and she now returns for another collaboration with Augusta Laar and poets from Naropa.

Excerpt, aka Student Life
June 4, 2026 8:23am, Naropa
I feel good today - in my showered skin,my flowy skirt, my strawberry hat, not so embarrassed to be an old lady - in dappled sunlight, writing.
11:29am
I want to sit everywhere, breathe in this place, feel its shade. I must move now.
11:30am
That's better, sitting in the cool grass under the sycamore. The swing on the Allen Ginsberg Library porch will be too hot - try later.
Sidekick/Alone, Embrace
The wind is a guitar in the house tonight.*
The wedding band is in the pawnshop.
Is the TV still here?
“Well that’s the last straw, hocking the TV, I’ll call the police!”
Toddler crying
I -woke her up
the first and only time I ever threw a dish, not even thrown but dropped from standing, the glass plate of pineapple.
Gone from the house now
I -made you go.
Maybe you’re dead, or maybe just roving. Prowling.
There is nowhere for me to go
but my knees.
I’ve never gone there for that reason.
This alone-ness has no words just a place, on my knees.
And guess what.
On my knees, empty, no answers, undignified, begging, eyes redswollen….came the embrace …a kind of warmth….light from light…..begotten not made…..true God from true God.
