Dorothy Parker war eine vielschichtige Frau: Dichterin, Geliebte, Werbetexterin und Oscar-Nominee. Ihr lyrisches Werk ist witzig, lakonisch, mal zart, mal hart.
Nora Gomringer und der Jazzmusiker Philipp Scholz, die in den letzten Jahren mit ihrer CD PENG PENG PENG für Furore gesorgt haben, stellen das Werk Parkers in die Tradition von Barmusik: Lieder wie Oliven in Martinigläsern sind entstanden, gehaltvoll, rund und am Ende des Tages ein kleiner Kosmos all dessen, was man noch braucht, damit der Tag ausklingt.
Dorothy Parker was a multi-faceted woman: poet, lover, copywriter, and Oscar nominee. Her lyrical work is witty, laconic, sometimes tender, sometimes harsh.
Nora Gomringer and the jazz musician Philipp Scholz, who have caused a sensation with their CD PENG PENG PENG in recent years, place Parker's work in the tradition of bar music: songs like olives in martini glasses were created, full-bodied, round and at the end of the day a small cosmos of everything you need to end the day.
Nora Gomringer hat zahlreiche Lyrikbände vorgelegt (zuletzt: Gottesanbieterin, Voland & Quist 2020) und schreibt für Rundfunk und Feuilleton. Neben vielen Auszeichnungen sowie Aufenthaltsstipendien u.a. in Venedig, New York und Kyoto, erhielt sie 2015 den Ingeborg-Bachmann und 2022 den Else Lasker-Schüler-Preis. 2019 war sie Max-Kade-Professorin des Oberlin College and Conservatory in Ohio.
Nora Gomringer lebt in Bamberg, wo sie das Internationale Künstlerhaus Villa Concordia als Direktorin leitet, der dritten Station des diesjährigen Schamrock-Festivals.

Nora Gomringer has published numerous volumes of poetry (most recently: Gottesanbieterin, Voland & Quist 2020) and writes for radio and feuilleton. In addition to many awards and residency grants like in Venice, New York and Kyoto, among others, she received the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize in 2015 and the Else Lasker-Schüler Prize in 2022. In 2019 she was Max Kade Professor at Oberlin College and Conservatory in Ohio.
Nora Gomringer lives in Bamberg, where she is the director of the Internationales Künstlerhaus Villa Concordia, the third station of this year's Schamrock Festival.
