I loved the festival! I loved the performances and felt strong empowerment from all the other women, even though I did not know them.
Next year, I would not hesitate to participate even just as an audience; it was really good. Your efforts and dedication amaze me.
Thank you for everything!

Julia Toggenburger - Winterthur / Switzerland

What a wild, beautiful, empowering festival! So many FLINTA who work with language in such different ways:
it was a stunner and gave me personally a lot of strength, desire and confidence.

for me it was a unique, great experience to be able to participate in the Schamrock Festival among all the shrewd poets. there were many impressive poetry readings. I
was overwhelmed by the emotion, immediacy, coping with life, humour, fantasy, resistance to the inhospitable and violence that poetry performance is able to infiltrate the ear in terms of emotion, immediacy, coping with life and violence. I was shaken, delighted, amused, enthusiastic, slain, kicked away, heavenly wreathed by the manifold poems from different corners of the world. sprung from the invited women's hearts unrestrainedly and unscathed.

Result: for me, it is the most valid form of expressing oneself in writing, intellectually, emotionally. no ifs and buts. Vanities are locked away. naked, the heart and brain smoke from the readers into the dark room. smokes the listeners. tipsy, drunk, blissful, surrendered to tears. that's how I felt among the listeners.

very commendable the immense translation work. Thank you very much for that. also worked well with the projections. the melody of the foreign-language poems in my ear, I could follow the content. Eye and ear were in action. Sometimes it was exhausting. the technical support of the festival was good and efficient.

Voices from all over the world resounded at the "Conference of Birds", this year's Schamrock – Festival of Women Poets in Munich. Curated by Augusta Laar and her wonderful team, around 50 authors and musicians from more than 20 countries met in the Werksviertel.

A variety of forms of poetry could be heard, openly playful or strictly composed verses written with subtle humour, quiet melancholy or combative power, courageous voices of persecuted poets from Iran or Uganda. I also heard familiar voices of poet friends and discovered new ones. It was not uncommon for the lyrical word in the white box to be combined with music, performance or visual arts.

The festival ended with the symposium and network meeting on equal opportunities for women in the literary world, which was accompanied by the EU project "Equal Pay, Equal Show, Equal Pension (EPESEP)".

My sincere thanks go to the curators of the festival for the organization and the perspective of solidarity.

Vera Linder – Milano Italy

I was so glad to receive your invitation to Schamrock - it was a really good experience for me and I was so glad to meet so many wonderful poets.

I found it had a perfect organization, it would have been maybe nicer for it to last a few more days: it was very intense and quick and it would have been nice to spend a bit more time with the other artists. but beside that, it was perfect!

Behnaz Amani - PEN Writers in Exile

Once again I would like to show my gratitude for this wonderful event and the chance that had been given to me to participate.

Schamrock was an opportunity to fly away on the mighty wings of poetry along with many beautiful birds from various countries. Together, we stand there, hand in hand, showing the world that we are not women to be silenced or to be regarded as less humans. We are birds who will not be content with flying low. We born to rise up.
Warmest Regards

Barbara Korun - Ljubljana, Slovenia

Dear Schamrock,
It was my best and  my favorite festival so far. I immediately felt accepted and respected. In just two days, I had the opportunity to listen to an incredible diversity of women's voices: from songs that fought for their lives in a world of war and violence and bravely oppose and resist such a world, to mourning for the killed loved ones, lost homelands, to language experiments in several languages, performative manifestos and wild, beautiful liberation ideas – for women and better, a more equal world.
I really liked the curatorial approach of Augusta Laar and her collaborators – each poet had something to say, and she did it in her own unique way. The festival fed me in my hunger to listen to the experience, emotion and thinking of women who do not give up, but fight in every possible way to make their voices heard and change the world.

Karin Fellner - Munich, Germany

From the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank you for the unique and great Schamrock-Festival, with which Augusta Laar has once again opened up this large space for us against all odds: a space full of inspiring encounters and strong voices, a space in which so many languages and cultures come together and exchange ideas. I was particularly impressed by those colleagues who tirelessly write against the violence and injustice that has happened to them.

As every time at this festival, I was and am flashed, encouraged, deeply touched and will carry all this inside me for a long time.

Radmila Petrović - Serbia

Once again, thank you for the wonderful festival. It was both lovely and inspiring.

For me, the Schamrock Festival has not simply turned out to be a festival of poets from all over the world, but an agglomeration, an enormous amount of energy that makes you think that worlds can be saved in this way.

Warm greetings from the consumer temple Zurich
